Foraging walks are a regular feature following the Fruit Route walk. Every walk started with the giving out of a printed guide to safe foraging and a talk on safe and responsible food foraging. Depending on the season the walks took in the most common and easiest plants to identify along with the potential qualities and nutrition of each plant as well as their role in folklore. Over time a number of repeat visitors to Fruit Routes were invited to co-host the walks as they developed confidence in plant ID. Visitors from different countries shared the names and uses for plants in their countries and learnt about the flora of the UK. On the route there are many plants to talk about and harvest including nettle and dandelion, yarrow, lime flower and lime leaf, hawthorn leaf and berry, elderberry and elderflower, wild cherry, gingko, plantain, blackberry, rosehip, garlic mustard.
