DESCRIPTION:You are invited to In Your Hands\, a celebration of ten years of Fruit Routes. \n17th + 19th May 2022 \nJoin two days of events\, performance\, wild food\, stories\, discussions and talks as part of The Institute of Advanced Studies’ Festival of Ideas: Transitions. Students\, staff and the local community are all welcome to come and enjoy the edible campus and the evolution of this project which focuses on celebrating the natural world\, exploring food systems and developing the campus as a living laboratory. \n\nTuesday 17 May \n14.00-15.15\nPart I: Branching Out Storywalk: Traditional Stories of Our Treescapes. Join\nstoryteller Patrick Ryan as he weaves stories of the trees on this storywalk around Fruit\nRoutes. Part of Branching Out\, a UK Future Treescapes Project. Meet in the Barefoot Orchard \nRefreshments available from 15.00 Barefoot Orchard \n15.30 — 17.00\nPart II: Stories of the Heart Wood: Gather in the Barefoot Orchard to listen to and share stories about trees. both personal and universal. Bring your good cheer and the tales that live about you. Led by Fred Dalmasso and Elizabeth Lovely from the Storytelling Academy \n\nThursday 19th May \n10.00-13.00\nCelebration of Fruit Routes & Launch of the Fruit Routes Charter marking the first\ndecade of this living eco-art project and the future of our edible campus. Short talks. followed\nby a panel discussion\, include contributions from the local community. university researchers\nand artists. International House \n14.00-15.15\nEnsemble Walk A walk together around the route sharing different\nobservations. reflections and knowledge guided by Fruit Routes founder and artist\nAnne-Marie Culhane. Meet at International House \n15.30-17.00\nWild Tea Come for tea and foraged food from campus. Try your hand at\ntasseography – the art of reading the future. with Paul Conneally and Anne-Marie Culhane\nand Jo Dacombe. Barefoot Orchard \n18.00-19.00\nSpell-ing the Green Knowledge a performance to mark a decade of Fruit Routes\ncreated by Topologies-of-Between [Gillian Whiteley. Geoff Bright\, Lyn Hodnett and Walt\nShaw]. who bring together sound. image. mark-making. objects and voice. Barefoot Orchard \n21.00 ’til late\nMoth Trapping Join in moth trapping with Graham and Nona Finch from\nLeicestershire Entomological Society.
